Plot

• Set after the events of the first film, "Stree 2" sees the town of Chanderi facing a new terror: a headless entity named Sarkata, who abducts women.
• Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) and his friends Rudra (Pankaj Tripathi), Jana (Abhishek Banerjee), and Bittu (Aparshakti Khurana) must once again come together to protect their town.
• Shraddha Kapoor reprises her role as the unnamed woman, who is revealed to be Stree's daughter and eventually summons her mother to help fight Sarkata.

It became the third highest-grossing Indian film and the top-grossing Hindi film of 2024, as well as holding the record for the highest fifth-week collection in Indian cinema. The movie became available on Amazon Prime Video starting September 26, 2024. 

Themes

While retaining the horror-comedy style of the first film, some critics observed that "Stree 2" seemed to prioritize expanding the franchise and including commercial elements like item numbers and cameos, potentially at the expense of the social commentary present in the original. Nevertheless, themes of teamwork, overcoming fears, and challenging traditional beliefs are still explored in the film.
