Plot summary

• The framing of the Survey Corps: In Trost District, the Military Police publicly accuse the Survey Corps of Dimo Reeves' murder. However, Hange rescues Reeves' son, Flegel, before he can be killed to silence him.
• Exposing the Interior Police: With Hange's help, Flegel publicly tricks the Interior Police into confessing that they murdered his father and framed the Scouts. Witnesses, including journalists, hear the confession, and Flegel vows to lead his company to protect the city from the corrupt government.
• Marlo and Hitch turn: Levi's squad ambushes and captures Military Police trainees Marlo Freudenberg and Hitch Dreyse. After Levi reveals that Annie Leonhart was the Female Titan, the disillusioned Marlo offers to help the Scouts. Jean tests his loyalty with a mock execution, and Marlo passes, earning the squad's trust.
• Searching for Eren and Historia: The Scouts disguise themselves in Military Police uniforms and use Marlo and Hitch's knowledge to raid a checkpoint.
